I had an interesting reading month this month! For the most part, the books that I chose were ones that I absolutely loved, but inevitably some of them fell slightly flat. Below I’ll be listing all of the books I read this month, and will include links to my full reviews of them if you’re interested in reading them! I would love to know what you’ve read this month, and whether you’ve read any of the books mentioned in this post!
This was probably my favorite book of the month, and was certainly the best way to kick off May! This book was so much fun, and the characterization was some of the best I’ve ever seen. I’m so surprised that this one didn’t put me in a reading slump as often when I love books this intensely that is the result, but the fact it didn’t only makes me love it more! I would highly highly recommend this one!

The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
This was my first classic of the month and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I’m so glad I read this one, and have so so much to say about it! But I’ll spare you the mess that would be me trying to condense all of my thoughts here, and will instead link you to my full review which you can see HERE!
Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
This was such a fun read! It took me a while to get through this one, but it was enjoyable all the same. It was everything I hoped for and more, and I will certainly be re- reading this one very soon!

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
I read this one in the matter of two days, which is fairly quick for me! This was such a good exploration of the damage idealization, the American Dream and delusion can have! It was written beautifully, and was thoroughly enjoyable. I will surely return to this book very soon!

And I Darken by Kiersten White
This was another book that I read very quickly. I’m still not certain on how I feel about this one; on one hand I really enjoyed reading about these characters and the politics and the world they live in, but on the other I felt it was slightly too slow and had a romantic aspect that I didn’t really care all that much for!

This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El- Mohtar, Max Gladstone
This was a book that was incredibly beautifully written! I thoroughly enjoyed the format of this book, and found myself caring for the characters far more than I thought I would! At first I was so unsure as to whether I was going to end up loving or hating this book, but thankfully I ended up loving it!

And that wraps up all of the books I read this month! I hope you enjoyed reading, and that you had a month of reading that was as enjoyable as mine! Be sure to let me know in the comments what your favorite reads have been this month!
Looks like a great month of reading! I’ve had V.E. Schwab on my TBR for ages now…your review is really promising and maybe it’s the push I need to FINALLY read her!
