Bookish Landmarks I Most Want To Visit!

The world is full of absolutely beautiful bookish places which, unfortunately, I haven’t yet had the privilege of visiting. From small bookstores in Paris to theatres- turned- libraries elsewhere in the world, there are a whole multitude of landmarks I am incredibly keen to visit!

I have therefore decided to create a list of the landmarks I wish to see the most! I would be interested to know which bookish landmarks you’d like to visit, and whether there are any incredible places that I’ve missed!

El Ateneo Grand Splendid- Buenos Aires, Argentina

This bookstore was previously a theater and a cinema, making for an absolutely beautifully displayed array of books! The incredibly beautiful architecture and my fondness for theaters awards this landmark the top spot on my list, and makes it somewhere I desperately want to visit in my lifetime!

The Austrian National Library- Vienna, Austria

This absolutely beautiful library is home to a collection of around 2.5 million books, and is a place I desperately wish to visit! I mean what’s not to love; it has a rich history and is probably the most beautiful library I’ve ever seen!

Shakespeare & Company- Paris, France

The whole creation of this landmark is incredibly interesting, and serves to make it a place I desperately wish to visit! This is perhaps the landmark that is easiest for me to visit, and I thoroughly hope I can make it happen!

Yangzhou Zhongshuge- Yangzhou Shi, China

This library/ bookstore is incredibly stunning in its display of a seemingly endless tunnel of books! It has reading rooms that look equally as beautiful, and it is therefore somewhere I am desperate to visit at some point!

Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library- Toronto, Ontario

This library preserves rare collections while simultaneously making them available to the public, which is something that I absolutely love! I would love to take part in one of the exhibits, and explore a number of collections that particularly interest me!
